Deployment Technician (Installer)
Overview:
GoTab is a leading technology company specializing in Point of Sale (POS) and contactless ordering platforms for restaurants, retail, and entertainment venues. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Deployment Technician to join our team, assisting with customer installations and deployments.
Job Summary:
As a Deployment Technician and Installer, you will be primarily responsible for installing hardware in complex environments such as restaurants, food halls, entertainment venues, and retail spaces. We are seeking a candidate with a solid understanding of technology, particularly Wi-Fi, and a desire to solve problems in the field. This role requires extensive travel, as you will be frequently visiting customer sites for hands-on installations. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute on-site hardware installations at customer locations, ensuring all components are correctly set up and functional.
- Understand customer site technical environments to develop effective deployment solutions.
- Identify, assemble, and configure required hardware and software, including POS systems, routers, printers, and network equipment.
- Provide remote installation support, guiding customers through the setup when on-site visits are not possible.
- Assist with logistics and hardware fulfillment, ensuring timely delivery and setup at customer sites.
- Collaborate with customers for smooth onboarding and provide ongoing support as required.
- Travel as needed, including local and national travel, to customer sites.
Required Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of IP networking (wired and wireless).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site or remotely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with installing and configuring POS systems in hospitality or retail.
- Familiarity with common Apple and Android systems and related peripherals.
- Knowledge of networking equipment.
- Previous experience in technical installation or deployment roles.

This position may occasionally require operating in a restaurant, retail, or entertainment setting and the ability to lift POS products and supplies (up to ~25 pounds).
